Preheat oven to 325°F.

Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and granulated sugar and press firmly into a 9-inch spring form pan, allowing it to go up against the sides slightly.

Beat cream cheese, brown sugar and vanilla in a small bowl on medium speed until well blended, then add both eggs and mix just until incorporated fully.

Pour over crust and arrange pecans around the edge. (I usually use more pecans, crush them and use them for topping later, too).

Baked 40-45 minutes or until center is almost set.

Cool on wire rack COMPLETELY, then refrigerate at least 4 hours.

Drizzle with caramel topping and more pecans if desired just before serving.

A few tips or suggestions. You can use margarine for the crust and low-fat cream cheese. This won't be a white cheese cake, or a high rising one, feel free to post variations on it, I'm always up for new ideas. :).
