| all-purpose flour (unsifted): 2 cups |
| light whipping cream (fluid): 1/3 cup |
| salted butter: 1/4 cup |
| powdered sugar (unsifted): 3/4 cup |
| eggs: 1 (yolk) |
| vanilla extract: 1 tsp |
| red food coloring: 1 drop |

- Mix cookie ingredients together, chill dough.
- Roll dough 1/8-inch thick.
- Cut out 1 1/2 inch circles.
- Transfer to sugar covered wax paper.
- Coat both sides.
- Prick cookies with a fork.
- Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 7 to 9 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Mix together ingredients for filling during this time, and when cookies are cooled place filling between 2 cookies.
