chocolate cake mix: 18.25 oz (or other flavor) |
chocolate pudding dry mix: 3.4 oz (instant pudding mix) |
eggs: 4 (extra large) |
buttermilk: 1 cup (or milk) |
vegetable oil: 1/3 cup |
powdered sugar: 1 lb |
unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted): 1/2 cup |
salt: 1/4 tsp |
water: 1/3 cup (boiling) |
unsalted butter: 1/3 cup (softened) |
vanilla extract: 1 tsp |
Cook time depends on the size of pan. Follow directions on cake mix box.
CAKE
Mix cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, buttermilk, and oil together and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
Bake at 350° according to directions on cake mix for size of pan for number of minutes.
FROSTING
Combine sugar, cocoa and salt in bowl. Add boiling water and butter and beat with electric mixer until smooth then add vanilla.
