Dissolve yeast in milk, which has been cooled to lukewarm, with 1/2 the sugar.

Add 1 1/2 cups flour; mix together.

Let set until bubbles appear.

Add the eggs, shortening, remaining sugar, salt, and milk.

Beat well.

Gradually add rest of flour, a small amount at time, mixing well until smooth and elastic.

Cover and place in a warm spot.

Let rise until doubled.

When dough is light, stir with a spoon.

Let rise again.

Shape into small balls.

Put in greased pans.

Brush top with melted shortening.

Rrise in a warm place.

Make indention in center of each.

Fill with 1 tablespoon of filling.

Let rise until double, about 10 minutes.

Bake in 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
