Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and salt at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamed.
Gradually add the flour in two batches. Beating well after each addition to combine.
Press into the bottom of a 13X9-inch baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Using a large bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar and vanilla until combined.
Use a mixing spoon or rubber spatula to mix in pecans.
Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust.
Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until topping is firmly set. Cool completely in the pan. Cut into squares and serve.
