| whole apples: 2 (MacIntosh is good - peeled & sliced) |
| pecans (chopped): 1/3 cup |
| light brown sugar (packed): 1/2 cup |
| ground cinnamon: 1/2 tsp |
| yams, canned: 29 oz (or more - drained) |
| margarine (oleo): 1/4 cup (or less) |
| miniature marshmallows: 2 cups (or less) |
can adapt for the crock pot
Toss apples and nuts with combined brown sugar and cinnamon.
Alternate layers of apples and yams in casserole dish. Dot with margarine. Cover.
Bake at 350’ for 35 to 40 minutes (until apples are tender).
Sprinkle marshmallows over yams and apples. Broil until lightly browned.
(You can adapt this recipe for a crock-pot. Cook until the apples are tender. Then top with marshmallows and run it under the broiler to brown the marshmallows.)
