Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- green split peas: 2 cups
- onions: 1 (quartered)
- garlic: 4 cloves (chopped)
- carrots: 1 whole carrot (large, quartered)
- celery: 2 stalks
- salt: 1 tsp
- curry powder: 1 tsp
- black pepper: 1/4 tsp
- parsley: 2 Tbl
- water: 6 cups
- ham hocks: 3 oz (any size ham hock is ok)
Split Pea Soup

- Cook Time 90 min
- Servings 8 servings
Wash and drain peas, then put them in a 3-quart pot. Add onion, garlic, carrot, celery, and seasonings. Add ham hock and 6 cups water.
Simmer 1 hour or until very mushy.
Remove ham hock. Pull off meat and reserve.
Puree the soup in a blender. Add the reserved ham.
